The runner ups were Brazil twice in 1996 and 2003, and the USA twice ( 93 and 98). The one time runner ups were Honduras (1991), Colombia (2000), Costa Rica (2002) and Panama (2005). For the records, the largest crowds at these final games were 120,000 for Mexico - USA (4-0) in Mexico City's Azteca Stadium in 1993, followed by 91,000 for Mexico - USA (1-0) in the Los Angeles Coliseum in 1998, followed by 88,000 for Mexico - Brazil (2 - 0) in 1996 at the Los Angeles Coliseum.

For the Haiti games this year, the Orange Bowl can seat 75,000 fans. Haiti can qualify for the quarterfinals if we put 40,000 to 50,000 HAITIAN FANS SUPPORTING LOUDLY AND ENTHUSIASTICALLY OUR TEAM, AND WE CAN DO IT. Every true fan must bring his friends and children with him. Children tickets (under 13) are only $10.-, advance adult general admission tickets are only $20.-per game and $50.- for all three games. You get to see two games every day for the same price of $20.- It's a bargain.

Tickets will be available shortly at over one hundred outlets all over Florida, Naples, Ft Myers, Immokalee, Lehigh Acres, Cape Coral, Bradenton, Tampa, Orlando, Riviera Beach, Fort Pierce, Vero Beach, Port St Lucie, West Palm Beach, Lake Worth, Lantana, Delray Beach, Pompano Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Homestead and Florida City, and in some places in New York, Boston, Atlanta and Montreal. People in remote areas can email me and I will make arrangements for them to purchase their tickets in advance also. All Haitians should purchase their tickets in advance at $20.- and prior to game day at $25.-. That represents a savings of $ 500.000.- at $5.00 per ticket if we put 100,000 fans in the stadium for the three games.

Some people may think that this is wishful thinking on my part.  However, the history of the predecessors of the GOLD CUP proves that Haiti won it once in 1957, when it was called the Confederacion Centroamerica y del Caribe (CCCF), and in 1973 when it became known as CONCACAF and the winner automatically went to the World Cup in Germany 1974.

The Gold Cup, played every two years,  came into existence in 1991 and is the premier competition for national sides from the CONCACAF region. Haiti was last in it in 2000.  Mexico has won it four times (1993, 96, 98, 03),

The Gold Cup drawing is over.  The Concacaf Office in New York has completed the drawing for the Gold Cup. Haiti is in Miami with Costa Rica, Canada, and Guadeloupe.

Bien qu'on ne puisse se prononcer sur sa récupération ad integrum, il a fait montre depuis
plusieurs jours d'énormes progrès; il peut gestuellement communiquer avec son entourage tout en souriant, et s'il est maintenu sous respiration artificielle on peut dire que son cas évoluera bien.

C'est le Dr Frantz Saintil, qui généralement se charge des maladies non-sportives de la fédération, qui s'occupe du cas assisté du Dr Paul.

On espère que l'évolution positive se poursuivra pour qu'éventuellement il puisse rentrer aux Etats Unis où vit sa fille Sandra qui voudrait bien le faire examiner à Miami par d'autres spécialistes pour des soins plus poussés.

Rappelons qu'avant sa crise Piquant souffrait d'atroces migraines d'autant plus qu'il avait été victime d'une tentative d'assassinat à La Saline quand des bandits l'avaient retenus pour lui voler sa voiture et l'avaient agressé, ce qui avait necéssité plusieurs semaines d'hospitalisation au Canapé-Vert.

L'ancien gardien de la sélection haïtienne de football, Wilner Piquant, aujourd'hui dans sa cinquantaine, qui avait fait les beaux jours du Don Bosco, de l'Aigle noir et du Violette AC, est hospitalisé, dans un état assez critique, depuis la semaine dernière à l'hôpital Saint-Esprit, a-t-on appris de sources sûres à Port-au-Prince.

Selon Yves Jean-Bart, Wilner a été victime d'un deuxième acccident cérébro-vasculaire après le premier remontant à six mois.
