For Immediate Release
September 26, 2008
Solidarite Chambellanaise, a hometown association, whose goal is to help improve the quality of lives of the people of Haiti, is undertaking two different projects: the construction in action of first secondary school of Chambellan where 350 high school students are attending classes and the goat's sponsorship program for poor needy women in Chambellan.
For your information, Chambellan is a small remote town located in the south of Haiti. The inhabitants of Chambellan are living purely on plantations, commerce and husbandry. 80% of the population are living in extreme poverty, but with great dignity.
We are currently working with five hundred affected women who are seeking help. The town has been devastated by the hurricane seasons so there are women who lost all their plantations and part of their husbandry. To come to their rescue a bank was contacted in Haiti to see if they could get a loan to start a small business. The condition is to get a loan an account of $ 30 US per individual must be opened.
Our immediate objective is to raise funds, amounting to $ 15,000. This money will provide these needy women with financial resources to allow them to open their individual account so they could get a loan with the bank. The Money they will receive will have to be paid back to transfer to other women in need so that a chain of businesses can be created among them to better their lives.
We are desperately looking for sponsors. Your help and contribution will be greatly appreciated. May God continue to bless you so that you can be a blessing for others in needs. Check or money order can be made to the order of Solidarite Chambellanaise and be sent to the above address. For more information feel free to contact me at the above telephone.
