EXPERT SAID:
"Tsunami effect can hit Haiti at any time"!

Haiti is exposed to a likely Tsunami disaster, those tidal waves - triggered by a brutal earthquake nearby Indonesia - that killed thousand of people in South Asia on December 26, 2004.

According to Haitian specialist Claude Preptit, a similar disaster occurred - in the late 1700s before the country's Independence - in Port-de-Paix, a city located Northwest of Haiti. Half of the city's inhabitants were killed.

Claude Preptit said tidal waves resulting from an earthquake could draw thousand of victims in Haiti due to flawed constructions' structures not able to cope with such powerful waves. The expert added that Haiti is situated on an uneven surface subject to unforeseen catastrophes.

Engineer Preptit reveals that some geodesic landmarks have been installed in Haiti along Petion-Ville/Tiburon's line and investment has been made towards identifying seismic threat. He finally concluded that this kind of investment is new in the history of public capital expense's budget in the country.
