Because of its size, the "Oasis of the Seas" which is owned by Royal Caribbean International can only dock at very few ports such as the newly purpose-built docking station that officially opened on December 3, 2009 in Labadee, Northen coast of Haiti.

Crossing the Atlantic ocean from Fort-Lauderdale, Fl., to set sail for Haiti, the most luxurious and expensive commercial vessel ever built will surely pave the way to more opportunities in the tourism sector, since Labadee holds a museum of History on Haiti which displays an exhibition of tourism movement in the Caribbean and of the bicentennial of the city of Port-au-Prince. According to the Minister of Tourism Patrick Delatour, there will be hereafter excursions that will allow visitors to tour Cap-Haitien, the Citadelle, the Sans-Souci Palace and its surroundings. A plan that should go along with new infrastructures and be quickly materialized with the tax-money contributed by Royal Caribbean to the Haitian government.
